If you’ve ever wanted to know your actual body fat percentage, lean muscle mass, or visceral fat score — without a blood draw, radiation, or underwater weighing — Styku 3D body analysis gives you that picture in 40 seconds. MyThrivelytics brings Styku to Rockville MD, available as a standalone session or combined with OligoScan mineral testing for a complete inside-and-out assessment.
Here’s exactly what to expect at a Styku session, what it measures, and how the results are used.
What is Styku?
Styku is a 3D body scanning platform used by hospitals, fitness centers, and wellness practices to measure body composition without invasive testing. You stand on a rotating platform while passive infrared sensors map your body’s surface. The scan takes 40 seconds. The platform completes one full rotation, capturing hundreds of thousands of data points that generate a precise 3D model of your body.
From that model, Styku calculates the metrics that actually matter for health — body fat percentage, lean mass, visceral fat, posture alignment, and 400+ measurements — displayed on screen while you’re still in the room.
Do I need to prepare?
Very little. The most important preparation is what you wear:
- Fitted clothing is essential. The scanner maps your body surface, so what you’re wearing becomes part of the model. Baggy t-shirts, loose shorts, jeans, or bulky layers create folds the scanner reads as body shape — skewing your measurements.
- Wear or bring: compression leggings or fitted shorts, and a fitted top or sports bra. If you forget, we keep spare fitted shorts on site.
- No fasting required. Unlike some body composition tests, Styku doesn’t require fasting. Come as you are.
- No shoes. The scan is done barefoot or in socks on the rotating platform.
- Timing tip: For the most consistent results across repeat scans, try to scan at a similar time of day and hydration level each time.
What happens during the session?
The Styku portion of your session takes about 5 minutes from setup to results. Here’s the sequence:
1. Height and weight entry
Your practitioner enters your height and current weight. These are used alongside the 3D measurements to calculate body fat percentage and lean mass.
2. The scan (40 seconds)
You step onto the platform, stand in a relaxed position with your arms slightly away from your sides, and remain still while the platform rotates once. The infrared sensors capture your body silently — no sound, no contact, no discomfort.
3. Results on screen
Within seconds of the scan completing, your 3D model appears on screen alongside your measurements. Your practitioner walks through the key findings — body fat percentage, visceral fat score, lean mass, waist-to-hip ratio, and posture alignment.
4. Results review
Your practitioner explains what the numbers mean in context — not just what they are, but what they indicate and what to focus on. You leave with a clear starting point for your goals.
What Styku measures
- Body fat percentage — total fat as a percentage of body weight
- Lean muscle mass — total lean tissue estimate
- Visceral fat score — fat stored around organs (the metabolically risky kind)
- Waist-to-hip ratio — a strong predictor of cardiovascular risk
- Posture analysis — shoulder tilt, hip tilt, head position, spinal alignment
- 400+ circumference measurements — waist, hips, thighs, arms, chest, and more, automatically
Why combine Styku with OligoScan?
The OligoScan + Styku combo ($220) is the most popular session at MyThrivelytics for a reason. OligoScan shows what’s happening inside — your mineral balance, heavy metal burden, tissue-level nutritional status. Styku shows what’s happening outside — body fat distribution, visceral fat load, lean mass, and structural alignment.
Together they produce a more complete picture than either test alone. Elevated mercury alongside high visceral fat. Low magnesium alongside poor sleep and elevated stress. Low zinc alongside reduced lean mass. The patterns connect, and the plan that results is more targeted because of it.
If you want the fullest possible picture of how your body is functioning right now, the combo is the session to book.
